This report presents the results from testing the mobile device acquisition tool, CelleBrite's UFED, Version 1.1.3.3, under the Computer Forensics Tool Testing (CFTT) program.
Abstract
Results from the testing found that the CelleBrite UFED acquired all supported data objects completely and accurately from the selected test mobile devices (i.e., iPhone 3Gs, Blackberry Bold 9700, HTC Tilt 2, Nokia E71x, Touch Pro 2, Samsung Moment, Palm pixi) except for the following test cases: SPT-06 (iPhone 3Gs, HTC Tilt2, Palm pixi), SPT-10 (iPhone 3Gs, HTC Tilt2, Nokie E71x), SPT-01 (Samsung Moment), SPT-05 (Palm pixi). The Computer Forensics Tool Testing (CFIT) program, a joint project of the U.S. Department of Justice, National Institute of Justice and the National Institute of Standards and Technology's Office of Law Enforcement Standards and Information Technology Laboratory, is tasked with providing measurable assurance to practitioners, researchers, and other applicable users that the tools used in computer forensics investigations provide accurate results. This report presents the results from testing the mobile device acquisition tool, CelleBrite's UFED, version 1.1.3.3 against the Smart Phone Tool Test Assertions and Test Plan.
