NIJ Training: Population Genetics and Statistics for Forensic Analysts
This course provides information in the two lessons.
Population Theory. Learn the basic terms in population genetics, factors that can alter allele frequencies in a population, and calculations
associated with the Hardy-Weinberg principle.
Statistics. Learn the importance and use of statistics and probability to the field of forensic science, how to use at least one of the
accepted statistical approaches to evaluate DNA data, and how DNA population databases are constructed and used.
