The NIJ Conference

For more than 15 years, the NIJ Conference brought together criminal justice stakeholders to share new research findings. The Conference emphasized the benefits that come to practitioners, policymakers, and researchers who work together to create science-based solutions to real-world crime problems.

NIJ has no plans to schedule the next NIJ Conference. Instead, we are holding more webinars, collaborating with professional associations to feature research at their events, and making greater use of other cost-saving options.

In 2014, we will feature our research at:

  • NEW: NIJ hosts the IACP 2014 Conference Saturday Session: What Works and What Matters in Policing
    October 25, 2014, Orlando, Fla.
    During this session, NIJ will be hosting four plenary events, Reducing Traffic-Related Officer Injuries and Deaths; Domestic Radicalization: Trends, Ideology, and Preventing Violent Extremism in Our Communities; Technology: Tools for Working Smarter, Safer and Cheaper; and Keeping Our Communities Safe: Increasing Firearm Safety through Research and Technology. This session will be introduced by AAG Karol Mason and includes NIJ participation from NIJ Acting Director Bill Sabol, NIJ ORE Division Director John Picarelli, NIJ OST Physical Scientist Martin Novak, NIJ OST General Engineer Brian Montgomery and NIJ OST Senior Law Enforcement Program Manager Michael O’Shea.

    To attend the Saturday Session, you must be registered for IACP 2014.
